With kids present on your special day, regardless of whether they’re part of the ceremony, you may want to include some details catered just for them. Here are some of our favorites.
1. Bubbles… but bigger!
You’ve seen the bubble trend of replacing the traditional rice throwing with some bubble blowing. Passing out bubbles to your guests, especially if there are kids, will be a blast for everyone. Want to go the extra mile? Check out this tiny wedding guest wielding a bubble wand. (This ring bearer had the traditional ring pillow replaced with a hand-held bubble gun.)

2. Color me married!
Customize coloring pages to fit your day! Add a baby box of crayons and you’ve created the perfect activity for kids to do during your ceremony or reception. You can even add a custom word search or activity book for a little extra.

3. Put a *sugary* ring on it!
Light up accessories, ring pops, or glowsticks are inexpensive, fun, and make a great party favor. If you’re expecting a lot of kids, you could consider a separate adult favor and a kid favor.

From the start of the ceremony to the end of the reception, a wedding is a long day. Having kids involved will require patience and a willingness to go with the flow. But if all goes well, you’re in for some seriously adorable photos.
Pro tip: Did you know there are specific “wedding babysitters”? If you’re hosting your event at a hotel or resort, the hotel may already have a list of sitters who you can hire to look after the young ones in a room or suite during the reception. If you’re a parent planning to attend a wedding with your young kids, but don’t want to leave the event early to put them to bed, we recommend looking into wedding sitters who can be in your hotel room for a few hours with the kids while you sneak in a little more celebrating.
