Kristin and Bill’s wedding was the perfect ray of sunshine in a gloomy March. The Chicago weather wasn’t yet warming up and the trees were still bare, but their special day had all the brightness and warmth it needed. They got engaged the previous December, so a March wedding came up fast, but the day still came together flawlessly.
The couple chose two stunning locations to host their day. For their ceremony, they were at Second Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue, which provided a gorgeous backdrop of ornate woodwork and stained glass windows. For their reception, they decided on the Chicago Cultural Center and began the reception earlier in the evening to enjoy the large windows and stained glass domes in the natural light.
One of our favorite moments is looking back at Kristin’s first look with her father.
From that moment on, the day was nothing but smiles. Kristin and Bill were all giggles and grins at their ceremony.
Kristin’s gorgeous look for the day incorporated elements to match the unique style of their venues. Her one-shoulder gown from Whistles Wedding was a blend of traditional lace designs with a modern fit. She added a set of baroque pearl earrings from in2 Design to finish the look. Her hair was styled by Pin Me Up Chicago and her makeup was done by Kelly Letto.
While the ceremony and photos took place, the Chicago Cultural Center was being set up for their reception.
Floral and decor were done by Revel Decor with rentals from Hall’s Rentals and linens from BBJ Linen. The palette of turquoise, deep mauve and soft oranges perfectly complemented the season. The room was set with long king’s tables to create a feeling of family and encourage socializing throughout the night.
